Asthma is an increasingly common health condition in modern society. You’ve almost certainly heard of it. But if you’ve never experienced an asthma attack, you probably don’t know what goes on during one. If you’ve just been diagnosed with the condition, here are some facts you should know.
Symptoms of an asthma attack include shortness of breath, coughing and a wheezing or whistling sound in your chest. This is a severe condition, and can be fatal if you don’t learn to manage it.
So what is it that sets off an attack of asthma? It can vary depending on the individual. Some of the most common triggers are allergens such as dust, pollution, pollen, cigarette smoke and perfume. Indeed, allergies and asthma often go hand in hand. There are also other factors that can set off an asthma attack, including exercise, cold air, pressure changes, and viral infections.
The site of an asthma attack is the airways leading to the lungs. The opening and closing of your airways are controlled by a specific muscle. You don’t have any control over this muscle; it’s totally automatic. However, it can be caused to tighten by certain irritants or external conditions, as mentioned earlier. If you suffer from asthma, the muscle tends to overreact to the irritants, and you’ll experience an asthma attack.
If the muscle tightens up, the air passage becomes constricted. It also gets clogged with mucus and the lining becomes swollen and inflamed. Normally, mucus in the airways is perfectly natural since it assists in the movement of air into the lungs. But when you’re experiencing an asthma attack, the production of mucus increases, thereby filling the air passages.
This sticky mucus makes it very difficult to breathe. The asthma attack won’t end until the mucus is cleared away. So it’s essential that you manage your symptoms quickly with a medication that has been prescribed by your doctor.
Sometimes an attack will last just a few minutes. A severe attack, though, can go on for hours or days. There will be intervals where you might not experience any symptoms, but they will soon return if you don’t receive the proper medication.
If you suspect you might have asthma, it’s essential that you visit your doctor immediately. He or she will run some tests to diagnose the situation. As well, they’ll try to figure out what’s triggering the attacks. Once you know what your triggers are, it’s essential that you avoid them as much as possible. In order to avoid asthma attacks in the future, close medical supervision and a strong commitment to using the proper asthma treatment are essential. The attacks can be deadly, so don’t ignore your symptoms.

Are you similar to the millions of men and women who desperately want to get rid of unwanted hair, but you do not want to fork out thousands of dollars to have it professionally removed? There is great news for you! Now you can carry out your own hair removal procedure in the comfort of your own home. There are home hair removal techniques you can employ at home and they are inexpensive and very simple. Read on to find out about some of the most popular home hair removal techniques.
Shaving for Men
Shaving in the shower softens up the beard and makes for a smoother shave. No matter if you use a cream or a gel, it is not the quantity you apply but instead how you apply it. Put on shaving cream or lotion by massaging it lightly onto the skin. This stimulates the pilli muscles to lift the hairs up which makes them easier to cut. Single blades offer an improved shave over that of double or triple ones. Change your blade once it becomes dull. Shave in the direction that your hair grows for the initial couple of passes, then reverse and shave against the grain the last time. Wash your face with luke warm water after your shave and pat but not rub, with a towel. Many men have to shave their faces more than once a day although daily shaving is a lot more common.
Shaving for Women
Opt for razors made especially for women. They are more handily formed and hold the blade at the proper angle for legs and underarms. Rinse the legs and underarms with warm water before massaging in your gel or shaving cream. You do not need expensive shaving lotions, because hair conditioner works just as well. Women are better off shaving body hair at night when body fluids are not so tightly packed around the hair follicles. Be careful when shaving the bikini line as your underwear can chaff you if you leave a shaving rash behind. Shaving facial and mustache hair will not make it grow back thicker. That is an old wives tale. Under The Arms are typically shaved twice per week depending on the preferred appearance and how quickly the hair grows. Legs may also require the same frequency although many women find that once per week works well.
Tweezing Tips
Make sure that your tweezers are washed in hot water or better still, alcohol, before you begin. Tweezing is a body hair removal method that works great if you want to shape your eyebrows or perhaps remove a couple of stray hairs on your face and chin. Never use tweezers to pull out nose hairs since you can get infection from it. Never put creams or moisturizers on your face before tweezing, as it can block or infect the pores and cause the tweezers to slip. Before pulling the hair with tweezers, use a hot flannel onto the area for a couple of minutes to open up the pores. When tweezing, pull the hair in the same direction that it grows. The hair removed by tweezing does not come back until after two weeks or so.
Depilatories Tips
Before employing any type of cream or lotion, do a skin test. This is essential to determine if your skin is allergic to a product you want to use. Apply a small quantity of the cream or lotion on a patch of skin and wait for twenty four hours for a reaction, if any. If the skin area looks normal, it is safe for you to apply the product. To get the most out of depilatories, it is best to use them after a bath because this is the time when hair is soft and the pores are open. Follow the product application directions down to a T! Make sure to not leave it on for a longer period than it states and use a watch or timer to be certain. If you have any irritation, acne or open wounds on the skin, hold off until they heal before employing depilatories. Women use depilatories about once every two weeks, but the frequency of use still depends on how quickly the hair grows.

Nutrition protein supplements are a great addition to your life if you are trying to lose weight. Nutrition protein supplements will enable you to build more muscle mass, which will cause your body to burn more calories at rest time. Exercises such as weightlifting will create little tears along the surface are of your muscle structure. The proteins that you eat are what your body uses to repair these tears and to add onto the muscle mass you already have. Nutrition protein supplements in great tasting powders, candy bars and other forms can be beneficial. You do take in protein from your daily food nutrition, but a nutrition protein supplement can give an extra boost without having to eat more food.
Choose One You Like
When you walk into a general nutrition center, the first thing you’ll notice is that every supplement company in the world makes their own version of a protein powder. This leaves you with a lot of choices. Some taste more like chalk than vanilla or chocolate, so it is important to look for a high quality powder that will taste good. It’s important that you like the taste or you will likely skip eating them and miss out on the extra protein.
Ask for Help
The nutrition center clerk can give suggestions on which brands might taste best, or you can ask around to friends and family members who may take nutrition protein supplements. Be careful when asking people who work in the store because they may get commission or they may get extra credit for pushing a certain item; despite what that item tastes like. But finding a taste based on a referral can give you a good indication that you can at least half way tolerate drinking or eating the nutrition protein supplement. Likely, you will find a supplement that you actually enjoy.
It is best to consume your nutrition protein supplement between meals. Don’t skip your regular food nutrition, because you still need at least three regular meals. For example, you could have your protein shakes before and after lunch and then one protein bar before bed. Not only will nutrition protein supplements help you lose weight faster, but they’ll also make you feel full longer, which can help you stay on your food nutrition plan.
